The First Congregational Church of Auburn currently has three music ensembles for volunteers who seek exciting music, service opportunities, spirituality, fellowship, and fun.
The Joyful Choir is an integral part of worship and ministry. Open to all interested singers of all ability levels, the Joyful Choir sings three out of four Sundays every month during the school year, with rehearsals three out of four Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The Season's Ringers are enthusiastic English handbell ringers who play during the Christmas and Easter season, with a flexible rehearsal schedule. Some music reading ability is desirable.
Spirit Song are several junior and senior high youth who sing contemporary music several times a year in worship. They rehearse after church on selected Sundays.
Music Director Keith Atwater leads the Joyful Choir and Spirit Song; Organist Jane Roach leads the Season's Ringers. In addition, volunteer guitarists and other musicians assist in worship on a regular basis. Churchgoers enjoy many different styles of music, and all these musicians and their leaders feel profoundly "blessed to be a blessing."
