The youth are an integral part of our church family.
We believe that offering a place where teenagers can safely express themselves, can ask questions, and find out what they believe is so important
These years are an important time when they are figuring out who they are and who they want to be.
Our Junior and Senior high groups meet every Sunday morning.
They begin in worship and stay on to hear the sermon, then they go into their own meetings for games, food, and discussions about what the sermon meant and how does it relate to their lives and any other topices they feel are important.
The meetings also offer a chance to look at other faith practices and what we can learn from them.
Once a month, each group meets for some activity outside the church; bowling, scavenger hunts, movie nights, swim parties, and lots more.
Both groups work on service projects on a regular basissuch as St. Vincent de Paul’s where they prepare and serve food to the homeless.
The senior high group plans an extended service project every year. Some are close to home, some are in other regions of our country and some are in other countries altogether.
We have been to Mexico and Costa Rica a few times to build houses and work on community projects.
In the recent past , we completed projects all over California on what we called "The Magical Mystery Tour", along with a youth group from Loomis Methodist.
We also worked with the UCC New Orleans recovery project in New Orleans.
Just this year, our youth combined with a youth group from Danville UCC on a 10-day mission trip to Costa Rica. Check out our YouTube video of the trip:
